A Scandinavian interior design is associated with space, light and freshness. With order and simplicity. White walls, light wood floors and accessories in the energizing colours. The objects are characterised by minimalism and high functionality. It is therefore not surprising that the Scandinavian climate is increasingly popular in Polish houses.
This aesthetic results from the geographical location – long and bleak winters which last even up to 5 months, polar nights and lack of the Sun enforced the people of the North to organise their houses in the light colours which reflect even a minimal amount of light. Trying to avoid suffering from depression, they traditionally did not cover the windows.
Scandinavians believe that simplicity and natural arrangement of the house gives a sense of harmony and peace. Their style is characterised by a compromise between aesthetic and functionality. If the object is not functional – it cannot enter the house.
